When a couple invites me to be part of their wedding day, I am always thankful and humbled. When else do you get invited by perfect strangers to be part of one of the most important days of their life? Unless you work in this crazy industry, you likely never will. My couples are trusting me with some of their most important memories, and I take that job so seriously. Recently, I began to give couples who book my full day wedding package a gift to thank them for allowing me to help tell their love story. I carefully curated a beautiful box of goodies for my couples and present this to them at our first consultation meeting. Currently, my box is designed with the bride in mind, but stay tuned for my Groom’s box, which is in the works.
Each gift includes a copy of the Photography contract that I have printed in small batches by a company called Short Run Magazines and one of my 3 favorite wedding magazines. I base the magazine selection off of the answers I get from my pre-wedding questionnaire that all of my sweet couples complete. Based on their responses to questions like where do you like to shop, what is your favorite thing to do as a couple, and who is your celebrity soul sibling, I choose from either Martha Stewart Wedding, Real Simple Weddings, or my local The Knot
Because every bride needs a safe place to keep her new ring, I include a Mrs. ring dish from my pals over at Taylor Monograms. And how beautiful are the heart shaped glitter lollipops from Sweet Caroline Confections’ etsy shop. Mine are champagne flavored, of course! Function and fun are the name of the game (because I actually want these gifts to get used and not end up in a junk drawer) so I also included a #bridelife headband by ThisNurseLuvsCrafts (perfect for holding back the sweat during pre-wedding workouts) and the popular Feyonce tee, again by Taylor Monograms
My favorite goodies: champagne, black truffle almonds, and dark chocolate and caramel candies round out the party. And a custom tote from Wedding Chicks makes carrying all these treats a breeze.
Since I recently added a new mid-week elopement package for couples who get married Monday – Thursday, here is the gift for them. This gift has a personalized ring dish, Feyonce tee, sparkle pop and tote.
I really think that giving a small thank you gift enhances the customer experience for my clients. My goal is to make them feel cared for and confident that their day is as important to me as it is to them. I would love to know what little things make a difference in your customer interactions. Leave me a note in the comments about how you either show your customers that they matter or how a vendor has made you feel special about choosing their service.
